Privacy Policy

Last updated: 24 October 2026

This policy explains how we handle personal information in connection with YachtAsk services.

1. Data controller and contact

The controller is VALENCIA Marine Services S.L.U., NIF B06827356, Camino del Canal 91, Real Club Náutico de Valencia, Bloque 3, Local 21, 46024 Valencia, Spain.

Privacy contact: ask@yachtask.com. Office: +34 96 13 050 13. You may also send a written request to the postal address above.

2. Information processed

Depending on your interaction, we process contact and billing details, order records, correspondence, vessel particulars, documents and photographs provided for an assessment, report delivery details and records needed to deal with enquiries or complaints.

If you activate market alerts, the information needed to link your Telegram destination to the purchased vessel and monitoring period is processed. Do not send card credentials, passwords or unnecessary identity documents in vessel files or messages.

Website hosting and security may involve IP addresses, technical events and similar connection information. Optional analytics and embedded third-party content are addressed in the Cookie Policy and require the appropriate controls.

3. Purposes and legal bases

We use enquiry information to respond to requests and take steps requested before a contract. Order and vessel information is used to deliver the agreed valuation, report and any purchased monitoring service under the contract.

Billing and legally required records are processed to meet legal obligations. Proportionate security, fraud prevention and the establishment or defence of legal claims may rely on legitimate interests, with appropriate safeguards and a right to object where applicable.

Optional non-essential tracking and optional marketing require a valid applicable basis, including consent where required. Purchasing a valuation is not consent to unrelated marketing.

4. Required information and other people's data

Information necessary to identify the vessel, communicate with you and perform the agreed assessment is required for that purpose. If it is missing or unreliable, we may need clarification before proceeding.

Provide documents only where you have authority to share them. Remove unrelated personal information about owners, crew or other individuals. Where information about another person is necessary, inform them appropriately and identify its source.

5. Recipients and service providers

Information is made available only as needed to authorised staff, appropriately engaged marine professionals, hosting and communication providers, order and payment providers, professional advisers and authorities where disclosure is legally required.

Hostinger provides the website platform and hosting. Vivid processes payments made through its payment links. Telegram provides the messaging platform used for purchased alerts. Each external service processes the information necessary for its function under its applicable privacy notice.

Payment providers process information according to their own applicable privacy notices. We use payment confirmations and billing information to administer orders; this policy does not authorise collection of card credentials through ordinary messages.

6. International processing

External hosting, payment and messaging services may process information outside the European Economic Area. Their applicable privacy notices explain their processing locations and transfer arrangements. Where we make a restricted international transfer, applicable data protection law requires an adequacy decision or appropriate safeguards.

You may request information about recipients and relevant transfer safeguards through the privacy contact. Read the privacy notices of external services before using their interfaces.

7. Retention

Enquiry information is kept for the time reasonably needed to respond and deal with follow-up. Order records, reports and working information are kept for service delivery and for applicable legal, accounting and professional-claim retention periods.

Monitoring operates for the purchased 30-day period following activation; expiry does not require immediate deletion of records that must lawfully be retained. Optional consent records are retained as needed to record and demonstrate choices.

Retention is reviewed according to the purpose of processing, applicable record-keeping duties and relevant limitation periods. Data no longer needed is deleted or anonymised, subject to lawful restricted retention. You may request information about the retention criteria applying to your records.

8. Your rights

Subject to the applicable conditions, you may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction and portability, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. Consent can be withdrawn without affecting processing that was lawful before withdrawal.

We normally respond within one month; any lawful extension and its reasons will be communicated. Identity checks will be proportionate, and a copy of an identity document is not required automatically.

You may complain to the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos at https://www.aepd.es/ or another competent supervisory authority.

9. Professional review and automated processing

Technical calculations assist the valuation process. A marine professional reviews the valuation before issue. We do not treat an unreviewed automated result as a final professional opinion or a decision producing legal effects about an individual.

The report explains relevant assumptions and limitations without disclosing proprietary source code or internal algorithms.

10. Security, external links and updates

We apply proportionate access, confidentiality and security measures. No online service can promise absolute security. External payment, mapping and messaging services publish their own notices, which should be read before use.

Material changes to processing will be explained through an updated notice and, where necessary, new information or consent. This policy does not remove rights arising from earlier processing.
